Laptop Lending
The MTC Libraries provide laptop computers for in-library use for current students of Midlands Technical College. Patrons must present a valid picture I.D. or student I.D. number to borrow a laptop.
Borrow/Renew
Laptops may be borrowed for use in The MTC Library from the circulation desk at Airport, Beltline, Harbison and Northeast campus.
Laptops are loaned for a four-hour period, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Connectivity
Wireless networking is available in the MTC Library.
Fines/Charges
There is a replacement charge and processing fee for loss or damage to the laptop or its peripherals. These charges will be subject to the same collection procedures that are used for fines or fees for damaged or lost library materials.
Hardware/Software
The Libraries currently circulate Dell Latitude E6540 laptops. MS Office is installed on all laptops.
Security
Do not, under any circumstances, leave laptop computers or any valuables unattended in the library. The Library is not responsible for lost or stolen laptops and any other items.
Though laptops are restricted to in-building use only, an exception can be made in case of a fire alarm. If a fire alarm sounds and you are unable to return the laptop before you evacuate, please take the laptop with you and return it when you reenter the building.
